The Research
A market and feasibility study was jointly commissioned by Discover Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership, and Southwest Michigan First. This collaboration was guided by an advisory team made up of city and county officials, university representatives, the Chamber, and other key stakeholders.
The Results
The study concluded that a state-of-the-industry sport/entertainment arena model best matches the demand of our community. It was also indicated that additional flat floor multipurpose space was necessary. This would provide a centralized location for conventions, expos, and amateur sport types of events.
